Moorcroft Manor Country House is situated amidst rolling green hills and breath-taking sunsets on the outskirts of the country village of Himeville, 8kms from Underberg in the Southern Drakensberg.
Moorcroft Manor is family-owned and operated and prides itself in offering the highest standard of service excellence, hospitality and comfort.
Being graded 5 stars by the South African Grading Council for three years has been an accomplishment and being voted "Best Guesthouse KZN – 2005“ by The Federated Hospitality Association of South Africa – East Coast has been a highlight in the years we have been operating.
On behalf of the Parsons Family I would like to welcome you to our small piece of heaven – Moorcroft Manor.
Accommodation
Moorcroft Manor offers eight classically decorated rooms all with bathrooms en suite. Choose from standard double rooms, a junior suite and two executive suites.
Lose yourself in the sheer comfort of our kingsize beds, crisp vanilla scented linen and finest quality Makoti down duvets and pillows. Selected satellite television, ceiling fans, hairdryers and robes are available in all our rooms.
All our bathrooms have underfloor heating to keep away the midnight chill and in winter, a covered hot water bottle in your neatly turned down bed is a welcoming treat. Our two executive suites are the epitome of luxury, furnished with antiques, free standing showers and thoughtful touches. The ambience and comfort will perfectly match your most romantic moments and leave you feeling relaxed, revived and rejuvenated.
Freshly brewed tea or coffee with homemade biscotti is delivered to your room each morning and can be enjoyed whilst marvelling at the uninterrupted views of the Giants Cup from the private patios which adjoin each room. Single beds and hypo allergenic duvets and pillows are available on request.
Activities
Here, at the base of The Barrier of Spears – the Ukhahlamba Drakensberg,
there are a wealth of activities sure to make your experience
in the Southern Drakensberg a memorable one.

a quad bike or rhino ride, with a guide. A visit to a Basotho
village is a highlight of the trip as is lunch at the Highest
Pub in Africa.
Valid passports are essential for these trips.
Guided hikes and walks can be arranged to take you on a tour of
discovery of the world of the lost bushmen and their legendary
rock art. This is a whole day trip and when leaving Moorcroft
Manor you are provided with a picnic lunch.
The hiking opportunities encircling Moorcroft Manor are countless
and will appeal to both beginners and experienced hikers.
Other activities that are available are birding, horse riding,
mountain biking, river tubing, wing-shooting and micro-lighting.
For those guests who enjoy the quieter things in life there are

use of our guests and our reception staff will gladly arrange
lessons which include a trip to club fishing waters.
The Underberg Studio with its wide range of pottery and photography
by two highly acclaimed artists who have made the Southern Drakensberg
their home, is a must see. Interesting shops that stock books,
crafts, cheese and gifts are in driving distance and for those
who wish to unwind with massage, a variety of therapies are available
in the area.
