Leopard Mountain Game LodgeZululand Rhino Reserve, KwaZulu-Natal
The 4-star Leopard Mountain Game Lodge, is located in Zululand in the 23 000ha Manyoni Private Game Reserve (previously the Zululand Rhino Reserve), located between the Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park and the Mkhuze (Mkuze) Game Reserve.
This Lodge offers spectacular views of the Manyoni Private Game Reserve’s bushveld, the Msunduzi River with the Lebombo Mountains in the distance.
Leopard Mountain offers warm, friendly hospitality, where one is able to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility. Guests can laze in their private hammock or take a dip in the private plunge pool, or the pool at the main lodge.
Leopard Mountain Game Lodge at a Glance
Leopard Mountain Game Lodge has nine separate well-appointed stone under thatch chalets set on the edge overlooking the meandering Msunduzi River.
An early morning game drive followed by a full buffet or cooked breakfast is followed by the mid-day "hide experience" where guests are taken to a nearby hide to unobtrusively sit and watch the animals coming to drink.
Back at the lodge, guests able to choose a picnic hamper and a place to enjoy it. This can be so romantic and fun! After some relaxation, guests can prepare for the afternoon/evening game drive.
The Manyoni Private Game Reserve is now a Big Five reserve with the introduction of a number of lion. The game experience is excellent, with the opportunity of also seeing cheetah and wild-dog.
Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife initiated a conservation project with the landowners in the Manyoni Private Game Reserve and introduced a number of Black Rhino. It’s a great opportunity of seeing both the Black and White Rhino in their natural environment.
After the evening guided game drive, guests return for a four-course dinner in the 'boma', seated at tables around a fire under the stars (weather dependent). Enjoy a bottle of wine from the Leopard Mountain Lodge’s award winning Diners Club, Diamond Status Wine List of cellar wines.
Guests can arrange a professionally guided walking trail from Leopard Mountain Game Lodge in the Manyoni Private Game Reserve. This affords the opportunity to really explore the bush, riparian forests and general topography.
They can get to see, hear and touch the environment and possibly add some of the area’s bird “specials”, such as pink-throated twinspot, Rudds apalis, green pigeon, Neergard’s sunbird and African broadbill to their siting list. One might get to see the more elusive Black Rhino as well.
Join our experienced Leopard Mountain guides on a morning and sunset game drive that go out for approximately two hours in the Manyoni Private Game Reserve. The sunset game drive allows for a short night-drive towards the end in search of the elusive nocturnal animals and birds.
