Game Drives
Leopard Mountain
The Zululand Rhino Reserve is the second release site of the WWF/ Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife Black Rhino Range Expansion Project. The reserve is home to four of the Big Five, a wide variety of antelope and some inquisitive giraffe. Jackals, genets, hyenas, porcupines, etc have also been spotted on the reserve.

Join our experienced guides on a morning and sunset game drive that go out for approximately two hours. The sunset game drive allow for a short night-drive towards the end in search of the elusive nocturnal animals and birds.

Hluhluwe-Imfolozi
Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve, Africa's oldest reserve, was first declared a Game Sanctuary in 1887 before which it was hunting ground for the Zulu kings. It is also internationally acclaimed for its conservation efforts and boasts the largest population of Black and White Rhino in the world.

Leopard Mountain offers guided tours to this reserve where you can enjoy the possibility of viewing the Big Five as well as other endangered species. Our experienced guides are not only able to offer interesting information, but also know the best areas for game viewing.

Bird-watching
Well over 460 bird species have been identified on the Elephant Coast. Leopard Mountain Game Lodge is situated in the North Eastern section on the Zululand Birding Route and proudly offer Pink Throated Twinspots, Purple-crested Turaco, Trumpeter Hornbills, Bronze-winged Coursers, Narina Trogon and is host to a broad range of habitats including riverine bush, grasslands and open Acacia woodlands, home to a great variety of feathered friends.

Whale Watching
Definitely a different kind of game viewing! A once in a life time opportunity to come into contact with these gentle giants. The tours usually start at 7:00 (weather dependant) and it lasts about 2 hours out at sea.
Seasonal - June to November

Tiger Fishing
Experience the thrill of catching the aggressive Tiger Fish on Lake Jozini - South Africa's only tiger-fishing venue. Jozini dam hosts major competitions and allows guests to hire boats, guides, and equipment for half or full day trips. The dam is set at the foot of the Lebombo Mountain range, stretching up to the northern end of Swaziland. Reserves bordering onto the dam are well stocked with elephant, a wide variety of birds and game as well as spectacular scenery.

Zulu Cultural Experience
A traditional Zulu homestead is the setting for visitors to gain insight into the Zulu ways of life in days gone by. The tour takes you around the village, showing you every aspect of the village, including rhythmic dances, colourful beadwork and intricate reed creations, even letting you taste traditional Zulu beer!

Lake Cruises
A relaxing way to see a beautiful and un-spoilt environment is to explore it by boat. Lake St Lucia forms part of the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park, South Africa's first World Heritage Site and largest marine lake in Africa. See the many crocodiles and hippopotami resident in the lake as well as buffalo, kudu and various antelope on the shore line. It is a bird watchers paradise, with the opportunity to view large flocks of flamingo and pelicans during favourable conditions.

With the warm Mosambique current so close to the Natal coast line, excellent fishing opportunities are available all year round within easy reach of the Lodge. Some of the species that can be caught are Marlin, Sailfish, King and Queen Mackerel, Dorado, etc according to seasons.
