The Thanda Private Game Reserve in northern KwaZulu-Natal, located just north of the world renowned Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, is a large Big Five game reserve which also boasts cheetah, wild dog and a wide variety of herbivores.

 

Many of these animals were reintroduced to this bushveld when the marginal cattle farms were consolidated and the area returned to its original status, a process which is ongoing.

There are three camps within the Thanda Private Game Reserve, with the Royal Villa now known as the Thanda Villa iZulu.

The five beautifully decorated and spacious en-suite air-conditioned bedrooms are really luxurious, each has its own sun/viewing deck, while the Executive suite has its own private outdoor jacuzzi.

Thanda’s iZulu Villa was originally built for Thanda’s owner, Swede Dan Olofsson and his family.

Thanda's Private Villa iZulu is now available to the general public. Thanda’s Private Villa iZulu, can accommodate 10 guests, in five luxuriously appointed suites.

The Villa is booked as a sole use venue. A private open game-viewing vehicle with ranger, personal chef and a masseuse are all part of the high level of service provided.

The Private Villa iZulu has a boma, library, cellar, business room with internet connection, games room, heated swimming pool, patio, gym and viewing deck which looks out over a waterhole often visited by a variety of wildlife.

The Villa provides top class personal service with a comfortable luxurious ambience and excellent cuisine.

Game drives are conducted in the early mornings and again during the afternoons and even into the night in order to better encounter some of the nocturnal species. Your private ranger would be flexible with times.
